Chris Hennessy & Sebastian Rießbeck German Cups 2019
What a weekend?! Fantastic craic was had at the weekend in Hamburg with Clubs from all over Germany traveling to compete in the annual Hurling (Chris Hennessy) and Camogie (Sebastian Rießbeck) German Cups.
The sun even came out for some fabulous Camogie Games with players from Berlin GAA Setanta Berlin GAA Darmstadt GAA Dresden Hurling While the Hamburg GAA Camogs came out victorious in the end, some great skills were displayed especially by up and coming camogie players, as well as the player of the tournament, Hamburg’s own Svenja Bahn!
The hurlers battled it out to the end with Dresden Hurling winning the Darmstadt v. Dresden Cup and the Hamburg GAA A Team winning the tournament against a strong Dresden Hurling Team, with Dresden’s John O’Donnell displaying some skillful hurling as the Hurling Player of the Tournament award. An important and fitting message given the history of the cups, was also delivered on the day by the GAA ’s Stacey Cahill who gave all attendees an insight into the importance of health, wellbeing and mental fitness when it comes to playing our sports.
